The Flash Season 5: 4 Ups & 3 Downs From ‘Time Bomb’

Ups...

4. Cisco's Storyline

The Flash Cisco Ramon Vibe
The CW

Flash vet Cisco Ramon has had a rather uneven journey this season. There are times when his storyline shows real emotional promise, allowing us to understand what he's going through, and then there are times when he's inexplicably written out of the show for multiple episodes at a time because, well, "Tannhauser facility". Thankfully, 'Time Bomb' gave us the former and, in a genuinely surprising move, even took the time to explore his relationship with his new girlfriend Kamilla.

Declaring their relationship on social media, it was quite clear that the pair were smitten with each other. However, Cisco's bubble would burst when Ralph continually attempted to shoehorn Kamilla into their "friendship group" and even got her a photography job at Iris' newspaper. It forced his hand and eventually he opened up to him, revealing that he didn't want to share Kamilla with the craziness of his S.T.A.R. Labs life because, for once, he felt like a normal person when he was around her.

Though he decided against telling her about his dual identity as Vibe, it was clear that this was only a temporary decision and that it will, at some point, return to the forefront. Nonetheless, it was impactful and returned the spotlight to one of show's most under-appreciated characters. However, it also revisited some of his feelings from earlier in the season, suggesting that his passion for being a superhero is continuing to wane. If that is indeed the case, at least he's getting the attention he rightfully deserves before he calls it a day - and yes, that was directed to both Cisco and Carlos Valdes.
