The Flash Season 6 Premiere: 9 Ups & 3 Downs From 'Into The Void'

Downs...

3. The Time-Jump

Okay look, the four-month time-jump was inevitable. With the exception of The Flash's fifth season, all of the Arrowverse shows (and many network TV shows) tend to jump forward between seasons in order to skip out the summer months and, in their specific case, to ensure that each of their timelines line up with each other so that they can make crossovers happen.

However, as it had previously been revealed that the premiere would pick up seconds after the Season 5 finale, was it wrong to expect more than just a few seconds of footage before the time-jump?

Sure, the events that went down with Nora's message bookended the episode nicely, paving the way for The Monitor's arrival, but it robbed us of the chance to actually see Barry and Iris' attempts to deal with the grief of losing their daughter - something that, as their heart-to-heart later in the episode teased, could have produced some rich character moments.
