So, which of the 2 shows boasted the biggest amount of star power? Father Ted boasted the wonderful Dermot Morgan (R.I.P), the hilarious Ardal O'Hanlon, the inspired Frank Kelly and the brilliant Pauline McLynn, as well as guest stars that included the likes of Graham Norton. However, with British treasures like Ricky Tomlinson, Sue Johnston, Caroline Ahern, Craig Cash, Liz Smith and Ralf Little making up the Royle clan, it's hard to beat the Royle Family in terms of the cast - Especially when the supporting cast included the likes of Peter Martin, Doreen Keogh, Sheridan Smith, Geoffrey Hughes (R.I.P), Jessica Hynes and Andy Whyment. With that in mind, the Royle Family peg it back by winning the battle of the casts.
