9. Guns N' Roses

Aerosmith. The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Green Day. Metallica. The White Stripes. The Smashing Pumpkins. The Who. The Rolling Stones. The late Tom Petty.

Plenty of major Rock n' Roll acts have turned up in Springfield over the years. Homer even spent some time at Rock n' Roll boot camp, learning to wail on guitars and rock out from the best of them in season fourteen. Yet of all the bands that could possibly appear on The Simpsons but hasn't, one stands out the most:

Guns N' Roses.

One of the biggest bands in the world, GNR's music - and references to the band - have found their way into The Simpsons several times. "Welcome to the Jungle" first appeared in the season five episode Marge on the Lam, and in season seventeen, Ned Flanders even sang a parody of the iconic tune as "Welcome to the Jungle Gym", in the episode Bart Has Two Mommies.

With the band ripe for parody (picture Slash animated in Matt Groening's distinctive style), and the key members (mostly) back together, now's the perfect time for this cameo.
