The Voice UK: Meet the Coaches

Will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donaghue join Jessie J for the four swiveling chairs in BBC's remake of hit U.S. reality TV singing contest.

Jessie J would be the first coach joining the BBC€™s new singing competition The Voice. Now the BBC has confirmed that Will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donaghue (lead singing of The Script) will be filling the other 3 swiveling chairs. The show which is already a huge hit in the U.S. will be coming to the BBC in 2012. What makes it different to other singing competitions out there? The blind auditions. The coaches listen to the auditions with their backs to the contestants so the only thing they can judge them on is their voice. Will.i.am Will.i.am is best known as a member of the Black Eyed Peas, responsible for the massive hits €œJust Can€™t Enough€ €œI Gotta Feeling€ and €œBoom Boom Pow€. The group has sold over 31 million albums and won seven Grammy€™s. In addition to performing with the Black Eyed Peas he is a highly respected music producer he has worked with artist such as Justin Timberlake, Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Kelis and Usher. He had this to say about joining the show,

He is also Cheryl Cole€™s manger, the two first meet when they collaborated on the 2010 track €œHeartbreaker€, going on to work on her albums 3 Words and Messy Little Raindrops. Cheryl is rumoured to be debuting her new single on the show. If true that would be a massive ratings coup for the BBC, who is up againstBritain€™s Got Talent and Cheryl€™s old boss Simon Cowl. Will.i.am is planning to release his new solo album, Willpower, later this year. Tom Jones Tom Jones has been in the music business for over 40 years, establishing himself as a British musical legend. He began his career in 1965 with the release of his debut single €œIt's Not Unusual€, going on to sell over 100 million records worldwide.

In 2003 he received the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. Jones, was awarded an OBE in 1999, was knighted by the Queen in 2006 at Buckingham Palace for his services to music. His most recent album, Praise & Blame, entered the UKa lbum chart at number two last year. Danny O'Donoghue Danny O'Donoghue is the lead singer of The Script. The Script first hit the airwaves in 2008 with the single €œWe Cry€. Their second single, "The Man Who Can€™t Be Moved€ went on to reached number 2 in Ireland, Denmark, and theUK They've sold over 3.5 million albums worldwide and five million singles in theUS, played alongside U2, Take That and Paul McCartney. As well as being the lead singing and song writer of The Script, Danny is also a successful producer As working with The Neptunes, TLC, Justin Timberlake, Rodney Jenkins, Boys II Men, Rip Rock, Alex G and Teddy Reily of Blackstreet.
