The Walking Dead: 8 Insane Ways The TV Show Should End

4. The World Is Healed

What if it's just America that's been struck by the zombie virus? With no way of reaching the outside world, Rick Grimes and his fellow survivors really have no idea what's going on beyond their own little bubble. Even Fear The Walking Dead - which has addressed the early days of the outbreak itself - is keeping the action focused on a small group of characters in a specific place, and so like most zombie movies, these shows has never really addressed the worldwide ramifications an outbreak like this one would have. Could the survivors meet a pilot who can fly them out of the states to safety? Might countries that haven't been affected arrive to clean up what's left of the zombie hoard, rescuing those that are still alive? Those would certainly be a couple of interesting ways to go in order to wrap up the story of the outbreak, as would a cure being found which could bring an end to the undead roaming the world. Rick and company being the ones to find this cure feels like slightly too big of a mission for them to embark on, especially as they're obviously more interested in fighting for their survival. However, them waking up one morning and seeing the walkers lying motionless in the streets would be an interesting note to end things on, particularly as (like the audience) the characters would be left in the dark about the source of the cure and what that means for the world now it's safe for people to once again live freely.
