In March Universal first unveiled the news that a permanent Walking Dead attraction was coming to its Hollywood park. Now we know when the attraction is actually expected to open.

Coming to life (or should that be rising from the grave) this summer, the attraction will begin scaring guests on Monday 4th July.

Universal have been collaborating with The Walking Dead for the past 5 years, creating mazes and scare zones at their Halloween Horror Nights. With this brand new attraction Zombies won't just be after you on all hallows eve, they'll be looking to catch you all year round.

This walk through attraction isn't just based upon the hit tv show, Universal are going all out to make sure that it is authentic as possible.

Universal are working alongside AMCs The Walking Dead's Greg Nicotero executive producer and director as well as the KNB Efx who create special effects on the show.

As well as the traditional walkers visitors are used to seeing at Halloween Horror Nights there will also be animatronic walkers set to terrify you. Fans of the show will also be able to spot some recognisable props as they try to avoid being caught by the undead.

Nicotero says "Its very exciting to be able to make the attraction as 100% authentic as possible. Were getting the chance to utilise moulds that were created specifically for the show and translate them into parts of the attraction.

Were creating animatronic walkers that guests will be able to seeits never been done before.its one-of-a-kind, state-of-the-art.and I cant wait.

Rather than tearing down another attraction, Universal have built a new structure within a building complex near to the park entrance to house this latest offering.

This isn't for the faint-hearted, Universal are recommending that anyone younger than 13 years old shouldn't enter. To be honest many adults will be too afraid to step into the world of The Walking Dead!

The walkers of AMC's The Walking Dead attraction are going to be set loose on visitors from Independence Day.
