The Walking Dead: Everything You Need To Know About The Whisperers

8. Their Appearance Is More Than Just Covering Themselves In Zombie Guts

As we saw at the end of Who Are You Now?, the Whisperers move among the undead. However, while we've seen this before from Rick and the other survivors - in both Guts and the Season 6 midseason finale/premiere - the Whisperers take it to a whole new level.

They don't merely cover themselves in walkers guts, but take their flesh, clean it out, and wear it. It is basically like human leather, which they'll stretch out and process, meaning they'll smell enough like the undead in order to move among them, but the insides are actually perfectly clean and safe for wear.

It's a whole lifestyle choice, too. The Whisperers have reverted to a more primitive state - they view humans as animals and the apocalypse as nature's way of correcting things. They don't use real names, talk only in whispers (hence the name, obviously), and don't acknowledge crimes such as sexual assault.
