The Walking Dead Former Cast: Where Are They Now?

Where have they gone after being a part of the phenomenon?

Jon Bernthal
AMC / Paramount

Outside of Game of Thrones, few shows currently on the air can claim the type of character turnover rate that The Walking Dead has. Throughout five seasons, AMC's juggernaut series hasn't shied away from whittling down the cast list, killing off characters big and small no matter how beloved or hated they may be.

A number of these former cast members had long careers even before they appeared on the show while others benefited greatly from their exposure on it, but almost all of them have remained as busy as ever in the years since their respective departures. And with the series' sixth season mere days away, the list of TWD alumni is destined to grow even longer over the next few months.

While they'll forever be remembered by fans for their time on the series and the characters they brought to life, it's easy to look forward to what comes next for all of them, whether they're jumping aboard new television shows or turning up on the big screen. In advance of the new season's arrival, let's take a spoiler-filled look back at former main cast and a handful of the most notable recurring stars to check up on what they've been doing and what's on the way...

15. Brighton Sharbino, Kyla Kenedy & Madison Lintz

Jon Bernthal
AMC

On The Walking Dead: Lintz portrayed Carol's daughter Sophia in the first and second seasons until she was finally put down as a walker after emerging from the barn, while Kenedy and Sharbino portrayed Mika and Lizzie - Carol's surrogate daughters - in the fourth season until Lizzie's murder of Mika forced Carol to execute the young girl.

What They've Been Up To: After leaving TWD in 2012, Lintz went on to appear in movies like the Billy Crystal/Bette Midler vehicle Parental Guidance and on the ABC series Nashville. Currently, she has a recurring role on the Amazon series Bosch and will soon be seen in the upcoming possession film Tell Me Your Name.

Brighton and Kenedy both returned as part of Tyreese's dying hallucinations in the fifth season, but they've both stayed busy over the last year and a half since their TWD departure. Sharbino has appeared on Once Upon a Time, in the family drama Good Ol' Boy and has the adaptation of the Christy Beam memoir Miracles from Heaven on the way next year, while Kenedy has turned up in the faith-based drama A Gift Horse and can next be seen in Love Is All You Need?, a film which tells the story of a heterosexual couple being ostracized in a society where homosexuality is the norm.
