The Walking Dead Season 6: 10 Questions We’re Asking After ‘No Way Out'

6. Why Jessie? WHY?

I was a big Jessie fan. She felt like a perfect fit for the show. While countless Alexandrians came and went without so much as a name, Jessie stayed strong. She adapted to the world and brought genuine relief and joy into Rick's life. The signs were all there that she could make it as a great character, but I guess that all painted a target on her. While the scene was staggering (my hands were genuinely, inadvertently grabbing my face as it all unfolded) I can't help but feel like Jessie's death was an enormous waste of potential and it was all very rushed. Rick having to axe her arm off was torturous, yet there was no time spent acknowledging her death, it was just rushed straight onto the rest of the plot. Will we see Jesse's reanimated body? Will there be a fitting tribute? Or is that it?
