The Walking Dead Season 6: 10 Things Episode 10 Got Right

If there's one thing The Walking Dead truly excels at, it's big moments. Huge moments. Moments that make your jaw drop, set your pulse racing and often result in cushions, remotes and any other throwable object spinning towards your TV. There's barely a show around today that can match TWD when it comes to dropping bombshells (now that Top Gear has gone...) with each episode offering unpredictability, conflict and blood, lots of blood. 'The Next World' wasn't a perfect package, but it still did a whole range of things well, including a new romance for Rick, the shock return of a fallen character and a new guy called Jesus. Yep, this was The Walking Dead, and here are 10 things it got right.

10. Lighter Mood

The mid-season premiere was dark, it was murky, it was a grim battle for survival in a long, crucial night for the survivors. That makes the contrast with Episode 10's fresh feel even more blatant. The Next World provided a radically different approach to the show, almost to the point where it felt like an entirely different beast. Some fans won't like the switch, but the lighter tone gave an opportunity for the audience to catch their breath from the madness and offered a glimpse of what life could be like for the group. It also allowed a few almost slapstick moments such as Daryl leaping from their van to chase down Paul with some classic chase music to accompany him. It can't be a long-term feel, but the lighter side of TWD shone through.
