The Walking Dead Season 6: 10 Things Episode 2 Got Right

Life after death and casserole.

Horror? Check. Blood? Check. Guts? Check. Yeah, it's an episode of The Walking Dead, and a very good one at that. Season 6 is firmly underway with Episode 2 'JSS' giving us a terrifying glimpse of the latest threat to Alexandria's community. You barely know any of the massacre victim's names or their personalities, but there's still a pang of sadness watching their innocent selves being carved up in the streets like a turkey at Christmas, but the Wolves who have most certainly arrived with a bang. It's been a gripping, gut-churning start to the season, and long may it continue. Here are some of the best things about the second episode, including a major character stepping it up a gear (or seven) and a delightfully efficient home-cooked meal...

10. The Opening Scene

The opening sequence was sensationally done. Like the Premiere flashbacks, it was sharp and to the point. The writers could have dragged it along across the entire episode, but there was no messing around, and Enid's backstory poured out before the credits started to roll. The scenes played out quietly, gradually building to screeching climaxes before cutting away to the consequences at the last second. We didn't need to see Enid's parents being mauled, the bloodied window and disembowelled corpses gave us enough of a fright. The opening scene was different, clever, and a real high point for the episode.
