The Walking Dead Season 7: 3 Ups And 4 Downs From 'The Other Side'

The Walking Dead is approaching the end of its seventh season, which means things should really start hotting up.

This is the time of year when the table-setting should be out of the way, and the show can get on with building up to the conflict, ramping up the stakes, and bringing more and more characters together to prepare for the march to war that the season will likely end on.

That's what the series should be doing, anyway. The Other Side, however, isn't too concerned with the season's overarching narrative, instead choosing to spend the majority of its time at the Hilltop. The Saviours do appear, but it's only to take a doctor after 'something happened' (aka Negan happened) to their other one (who, weirdly, happened to be the brother of the Hilltop doctor).

The bulk of the episode is structured around Sasha and Rosita, who embark on their long-teased mission to assassinate the baseball bat-swinging maniac. Amongst that, we get to spend some time with a reconnecting Maggie and Daryl, a snivelling Gregory, and a little bit of Jesus (who it's revealed is, like his comic counterpart, gay, in a nice, subtle moment).

There were moments to really like within the episode but, as it gets so close to the end of the season, it's really not the one we needed right now. (Warning: contains spoilers for The Other Side.)
