Contains major spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 6.

It's safe to say that last week's episode of The Walking Dead was the one that fans everywhere had been dreading.

Viewers of the hit series bid farewell to Rick Grimes, as the veteran character took his last gunshot, blowing up his beloved bridge to save his loved ones from an oncoming herd. He was later rescued from the rubble by Anne and transported to a safe location where he could recuperate and presumably start again. However, this story is far from over, as the remaining survivors carry on with the day-to-day struggles that come with living in a post-apocalyptic world.

For the second time this season, The Walking Dead takes a time-jump - an odd decision considering the previous jump took place a mere five episodes ago. Who Are You Now? begins with a much bigger gap in time however, as we find our central characters six years into the future. The communities are divided, Judith is much older and Carol is rocking longer locks. This is very different world than the one we left last week.

The question on everyone's lips is can The Walking Dead survive without Rick Grimes? If 'Who Are You Now?' is anything to go by then the answer is, surprisingly yes. The episode is far from perfect, and there are a few too many conveniences that undoubtedly resulted in a few eye rolls from disgruntled viewers, but, all in all, it's not half bad.
