Regardless of whether it's compelling or going through one of its many boring phases, no one can deny that The Walking Dead is one of the most aesthetically pleasing shows on television. Filmed on grain, the show employs a filmic look, which aids in creating the gritty exterior that goes hand-in-hand with the post-apocalyptic narrative. Much of the show's appeal lies in its direction, and, for Stradivarius, the credit goes to the show's very own Michael Cudlitz.

From Daryl's near-death experience while trying to rescue his dog, to the epic scene where Michonne and Siddiq team with the newcomers to dispose of the walker herd, Stradivarius is filled with many wonderfully-directed scenes. Jesus and Aaron's playful fight at the beginning of the episode is another highlight, as is the overhead shot at the end.

Cudlitz, of course, portrayed fan favourite character Abraham Ford between seasons four and seven, before the character was killed by the villainous Negan. It's nice to see that previous cast members are having the opportunity to remain with the show in an alternative capacity, as Andrew Lincoln has also shown interest in returning to the show to direct in the near future.
