Twin Peaks: The Return Premiere: 10 Callbacks And Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

10. Flickering Lights

Twin Peaks - Flickering Lights

In Buckhorn, South Dakota, local high-school principal Bill Hastings is arrested for the grotesque murder of a woman (a librarian named Ruth Davenport) after his fingerprints are found all over her apartment - the scene of the callous crime.

As part of their investigation, detectives Dave Macklay and Don Harrison file a warrant to search Hasting’s property and it’s at this point, while searching the trunk of the suspect’s car, that the officer’s flashlight starts flickering.

This appears to be a callback to the original pilot, when Agent Dale Cooper and Sheriff Harry S. Truman go down to the morgue to examine the body of homecoming queen Laura Palmer, but a malfunctioning fluorescent light troubles their view.

Watt are the chances, eh?
