Ultimate Spider-Man: 5 Reasons You Should be Watching

3. Huge Marvel Cast

SPIDER-MAN, POWER MAN, NOVA, THE GOBLIN, IRON FIST My favorite animated incarnation of Spider-Man has and may always be 1994€™s Spider-Man: the Animated Series - I loved the continuous Peter Parker story, but I also loved when various Marvel superheroes would guest star on the show. It€™s one of the things I enjoy most about Ultimate Spider-Man. Since the goal seems to be to incorporate a wide variety of Marvel characters, we get to see Spider-Man team up with the likes Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Wolverine, etc. We also get to see Spider-Man face some cool non-spidey villains like Zzzax, Loki, and Dr. Doom. That being said, every now and then we get an episode where it feels like some characters, like the Wrecking Crew, are being forced down our throats. And I€™m sorry, but I don€™t care about Dr. Strange. On that note, I will say I don€™t care much for the fact that Spider-Man is part of a SHIELD created team. I like the inclusion of SHIELD and it€™s nice to have some Marvel characters stop by every now and then, but the team aspect annoys me a bit. I need more Spidey and less Nova. Hell, even in the show Peter Parker doesn€™t like Nova. I will say that the inclusion of SHIELD gives Peter mentors like Nick Fury and Agent Coulson which is nice to see. By the way, getting the part of Agent Coulson in Iron Man may be the luckiest thing that€™s ever happened to Clark Gregg. It seems he has a job with Marvel for life, and I imagine he€™s going to make his way into the comics eventually.
