10. Lauren Cohan (Maggie Greene)
Taking on the role of Maggie Greene, British actress Lauren Cohan first appeared in the second episode of Season 2. While she did not originally have a great deal of challenging material, Cohan stepped up in Season 3 and delivered a complex performance that allowed Maggie to develop from sheltered farm-girl whose primary role seemed to be as Glenn's girlfriend into an adaptable survivor. She's formidable, and accomplished what Andrea had always wanted for herself holding her own with the boys while Beth and Carol handle the domestics. Maggie stabs, shoots, and performs an emergency C-section while being harassed by Walkers, on a show that's not always great at writing female characters. Yet even in such circumstances, Cohan has turned Maggie into one of the most proactive and convincingly capable characters on the program.
MVP Moment: Maggie performs the impromptu C-section on Lori and carries the infant out to the other survivors, her bloody arms and shellshocked expression telling Rick all that he needs to know about what has happened to his wife.
