The Walking Dead: 10 Things Season 5 Must Do Better Than Season 4

Is there any way the show will ever be as good as season 1 again?

Season 5the Walking Dead It is truly amazing how much the zombie genre has become integrated into popular culture in just the last five years. As a horror icon, zombies have been around for quite some time, but it is only recently that they have become so ingrained in the public consciousness that your 80 year old grandmother knows that you have to shoot them in the head. What once appealed to a small niche of people is now a global phenomenon, and there is little doubt that much of this can be attributed to the rapid success of the AMC television series The Walking Dead. Based on Robert Kirkman€™s comic book series of the same name, The Walking Dead is the first major zombie-based television series, which is why it was such a big deal back when it started in 2010. Since then, it has exploded in popularity; attracting a wide array of people across all age groups. It is AMC€™s most successful show, and one of the highest-rated basic cable shows of all time. It just recently ended its fourth season run to continued success, and fans of the show are already eagerly awaiting the upcoming fifth season. With all the being said, The Walking Dead, despite its commercial success, has a fair share of creative issues that hold it back from achieving true greatness. While it started off fairly well in its first season, its sophomore effort was weighed down with irrational and increasingly-unlikable characters, clunky and sometimes obnoxiously pretentious writing, and a directionless plot. The third season faired somewhat better, but it was becoming clear that The Walking Dead was having a difficult time establishing itself among other AMC greats like Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Now that the fourth season is finished, it€™s safe to say that, while there have been some substantial improvements; The Walking Dead still isn€™t quite the genre masterpiece it desperately wants to be. However, the potential is still there, and if the series is to reach this potential, there will have to be some substantial changes going forward. Here are 10 things season 5 must do better than season 4.
