WhatCulture.com Jobs - TV Editor WANTED

We're looking for a small screen expert.

Is your life not measured in years, but television seasons? Does the return of Game Of Thrones feel bigger than Christmas? Does a binge watch where you don't finish the series feel incomplete? And, most importantly, do you enjoy presenting yours and other people's thoughts to a massive worldwide audience? If the answer was "yes, obviously" to all of the above, then we have a great opportunity for you. WhatCulture.com is looking for a new TV Editor to head up our ever-growing section covering all things on the small screen. Based in our Newcastle city centre head office, the role would see you spearhead our TV output going forward, working with our writer pool to get their content ready for publication and bringing in new creative talents, as well as producing your own content on everything to do with television. Working at WhatCulture.com is an incredible opportunity, allowing you to work with like-minded people who share a burning passion for pop culture. Your goal will be to make WhatCulture.com the go-to website for TV fandom, but you'll also be helping expand the general scope of one of the fastest-growing entertainment websites on the internet.

Who You Are:

An in-depth knowledge and all-out love of TV, with a long list of viewed shows, is an absolute must. You need to be the sort of person who will always steer the conversation to the latest big show and can't sleep without catching a couple of episodes of your latest obsession. The role of TV geek should be worn with pride. The ideal candidate would be able to write quality, timely content on a wide-range of TV, from both a generalised perspective and looking in-depth at particular shows. The articles will show an intense knowledge beyond that of a casual viewer, showing insight into both the workings of a series and the wider context. You will be creative, able to come up with novel ideas for where to take the section and guide a team of writers to grow the section. Naturally, you will thrive on pressure and on working towards clear targets and deadlines.
