WWE Smackdown Review 16/12/12 - TLC Go Home Show
Smackdown. 16th December 2011.North Carolina 2 Days from TLC, Big Show faces Jack Swagger and Orton and Ryder face Barrett and Ziggler. But first, Josh Matthews introduces Booker T ahead of his return to the ring against Cody Rhodes. Cole shows footage of Rhodes attacking Booker last week. He asks Booker if hes ready. Do I look ready? The fans think he does. Booker says he didnt want this, cause he was happy being on commentary. But still To to hell with Michael Cole. Booker says its about Cody trying to make a name for himself. And the Book will be damned if Cody gets legitimised off his name. Funny how he still uses the FIVE TIME WCW Champion line, even though hes also a WWE Champion. I would have thought the WWE Nit pickers would have been all over that one. He adds that hes going to win the IC Title from Rhodes. Josh asks does this mean hell return full time but Booker says well cross that bridge when we come to it. He promises a beat down, NOW CAN YOU DIG THAT?!? But here comes Rhodes who calls it a piece of fiction. Cody basically tells Booker that the movie ending is not going to happen for Booker T. Josh gets out of dodge and Booker invites Cody to the ring. Cody gets in but tells him instead hell show him how legitimate he already is Sucka. Daniel Bryan vs. Cody Rhodes WellDaniel is definitely not winning this over Cody heading into TLC now. I should add that Lillian is on announcing duty. Shoving match to begin with, Bryan flips out of a back drop and goes straight for the Labelle Lock. Back from the break, Bryan is still in control and meets Rhodes in mid air with a dropkick. He goes for a modified surfboard, but when Cody blocks it he just stomps on his calves instead. Bryan goes to suplex Cody into the ring, but Rhodes reverses and takes Bryan to the floor. Back in the ring we go. Too many shots of Booker T and Michael Cole arguing than of the actual match. Rhodes works the ribs. Bryan kicks him off and goes for a back slide. Drop Toe hold into a cradle. Another two. Missile Dropkick! Bryan is laying in the kicks in the corner. Ref backs him off, allowing Cody to boot him and go up top. Bryan drops him on the top then gives him a Back Drop from the top ropeRhodes reverses it in mid air falling on top of BryanOne, Two, Kickout! Rhodes misses the springboard kick and gets rolled up for two. Rhodes rolls through on Bryan, picks him up and hits Cross Rhodes! Nice transition and thats a three count for Cody. Alicia Fox is WALKING and GRINNING Alicia Fox vs. Natalya Alicias music is piss poor. Natalya brings a box of tissues to the ring to make fun of Fox for crying in her submission move. Fox tries to roll her up right away but gets kicked instead. Natalya puts her in an abdominal stretch and slams her to the mat. Natalya rolls her up, Fox kicks out, Natalya bounces back and gets rolled up herself. Fox gets the three! And she also ends up with some of Natalyas extensions in her hand. Oh Jesus she has a mic. She says Natalya is so synthetic, its pathetic. She tells Natalya to go for a cry, because she just got Outfoxed. Natalya gets back in and swings a boot at Alicia. Fox catches it and knocks her down then gives her a flip leg drop. What is this push all about? We see some nominees for Pipebomb of the Year from the Slammys which heavily features R Truths comedy. And SHUCKY DUCKY QUACK QUACK! And all the other funniest moments from the past year. Interestingly, including some promo botches. Mark Henry tells Swagger to hurt the Big Show and hell be first in line for next shot. Swagger says hell do it, but hell do it for himself. The Usos vs. Primo and Epico w/Rosa Mendes Shucky Ducky Quack Quack for Rosa. Usos with a double team on Epico then a double elbow combo. Referee restrains an Uso allowing Primo to hangman the other. Primo beats him down in the corner. Primo and Epico with quick tags and double teams. Usos make the hot tag and Jay is in with the charging arse to the face in the corner. Jimmy takes out Epico, allowing Jay to super kick Primo. He goes up top but Rosa distracts. Primo drops him down onto the Back Stabber and covers him for three. Big Show vs. Jack Swagger Swagger tries to jump Big Show as Mark Henry comes out to watch from the ramp. Show is quick to regain control and absolutely floors Swagger and sends him outside. He brings him back in and tags him with the big open hand slap. Big Show no sells a punch to the gut and clubs Swagger down. Body Slam. Show is all the while staring down Henry between moves. He misses a charge on Swagger, and tries to boot him in the face. Swagger catches the foot and drops it onto his shoulder, following up with TWO Swagger bombs. Big Show kicks out EASILY then gets right back up and destroys Swagger again. He calls for Choke Slam but gets rolled into the Ankle Lock! Show struggles briefly but kicks him off. When Swagger comes back at him, Big Show swings the WMD and knocks him out. One, Two, Three. Just for good measure he tosses Swagger out of the ring by his throat. Then for some reason Henry takes a chair and smacks Swagger in the back. And then chairs a camera man for no reason. I have to admit, I laughed. Zack Ryder gives Randy Orton a WOO WOO WOO and Orton looks annoyed. Heath Slater vs. Ted DiBiase This to decide who has the worst entrance music in WWE. Fake country rock vs. Auto tuned R n B? WHO YA GOT!? Ted rolls him up a half dozen times from the outset. Slater gets annoyed and slaps him. Ted loses it and throws him outside and into the barrier. HIGH FIVES for the soldiers! Ted rolls him back in the ring but gets taken hard into the corner. Heath wraps him around the ringpost and stretches him out. Heath isnt even that bad when he drops the cheese ball nonsense. Ted with the Confusion clothesline to regain control. Dream Street! Ref count it! Auto tune wins! But post match Jinder Mahal is in from nowhere and hes middle eastern decent so you KNOW he has to put him in the Camel Clutch. Teddy Long appears and says if he wants a fight, right now hes gunna face Sheamus. Sheamus vs. Jinder Mahal Its not long before Sheamus goes for the HAND GRENADE but Jinder elbows him off. Jinder runs off, but Sheamus catches him going back into the ring and clubs his chest ten times, following up with a slingshot shoulder. Jinder fights back (unconvincingly) with a neck breaker but Sheamus kicks out. Sheamus grabs Jinder by the face and backs him into the corner. The vicious shots come out and then he gives him the Irish Curse Backbreaker. Brogue Kick and a three count. Randy Orton and Zack Ryder vs. Wade Barrett and Dolph Ziggler Dolph and Zack in there first. Ryder manages a flap jack and a tag to Orton who boots Dolph when he comes in. Orton with his measured stomps to Ziggler. Suplex. Ryder tags in but Dolph manages to take over on him and tag Wade. Orton tags in and Wade gets himself out of there. Dolph avoids the Orton backbreaker but not a Ryder dropkick which sends him outside. And this means an ad break. When we come back, Orton has Dolph in the corner for punches. Wade Barrett blind tags himself in and catches Orton with a big boot. Dolph tags back in and gives Orton his high elbow. He gets a two after a trademark dropkick. Tag to Wade, but Orton catches him with a back drop. Hot tag to Ryder! He is all over Wade with clotheslines. Double knees to Wade followed buy the Broski Boot! Ruff Ryder attempted, but Wade reverses and sends him into a Dolph right hand. Ryder rolls him up for two, but Dolph catches him before he can tag Orton. Barrett tags in and suplexes him. Wade manages to get Zack up into the Wasteland but he counters it into a DDT! Hot tag to ORTON now. Clotheslines aplenty and a snap power slam. He gives Dolph the high neck breaker from his shoulders but Wade breaks the pin. Ryder takes Wade outside but gets thrown into the barrier. Back in the ring, Dolph rolls up Orton, one, two, Kickout! Fame Asser missed, RKO!! One, Two, Three! Barrett stares him in the eyes and backs back up the ramp. They stare each other down to end the show.
