In the mad sport of MMA, there are those who fight methodically, with precision timing and expert calculation of every move like a human chess match with dire physical consequences, and there are those who berserk with the rabid ferociousness of caged dogs finally unleashed.

Some of the wildest exchanges in all of combat sports happen in the opening minutes of UFC bouts between the very pinnacle of martial athletes. From barn burner brawls consisting of the biting down of mouthpieces while swinging for the fences, to the pure domination of wills and limbs via superior wrestling and Brazilian jiu jitsu skills, there is no shortage of brave warriors leaving it all in the Octagon for eternal glory and prestigious honor, along with our entertainment.

We've compiled a list of the five most insane wars in UFC history concluding with heart stopping finishes within the very first round, often times leaving fans and analysts alike clamoring for more, while both fighters end up spending their nights under the bright lights of the hospital wing, sometimes never being the same athlete as they were before.

The biggest fight of both decorated wrestlers' respective UFC careers, and perhaps the perfect example of technique and a cool head prevailing against raw power and ferocious drive.

From the word go Lesnar was the modern sport incarnation of his viking ancestors, streaking across the cage in a fury fueled attempt to drive Velasquez to the canvas with his signature double leg dump. Unsuccessful in his take-down attempt, Lesnar surprised his unsuspecting opponent with a flying knee to the ribs.

Lesnar then secured several take-downs that Velasquez would simply bounce right back up from, eventually getting a take-down of his own and raining dominant ground and pound upon 'The Beast Incarnate'. After several heavy shots landed to Lesnar's abdomen and temples, he rose to his feet only to be blasted across the Octagon by Velasquez's merciless uppercut, followed by a crippling knee to Lesnar's sternum and a TKO ground and pound victory for Velasquez.
