5 Reasons New UFC Signing Holly Holm Could Defeat Rousey

Welcome to the UFC Holly Holm!

Holy Holm is the biggest name the UFC has signed since the initial launch of the UFC women's bantamweight division, which brought us Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, Cat Zingano, and many others. An elite level boxer, and long viewed by fans as a legitimate threat to Rousey's dominance, her arrival tells us just how aware the UFC is of the lack of credible credible challengers for Rousey's title. There really isn't much else out there in way of competition: Cyborg is working on cutting to 135lbs and will take at least one more fight in Invicta before considering a move to the UFC, and a contract would need to be worked out. Rumours have popped up again - fed by the UFC itself via an article on UFC.com - that WMMA pioneer Gina Carano will be signed within a week, but that's more of a spectacle fight with a marketable name than a real challenge for Rousey. With apologies to Cat Zingano, that leaves Holm with probably the best chance at upsetting Rowdy and stealing her bantamweight title. It won't be easy - Rousey has improved her striking game by leaps and bounds over the past year - but Holm does have a solid chance at dethroning the current Queen of Women's MMA. While it has been confirmed that she won't get an immediate title shot, expect to see her in the cage with Rousey after just one or two UFC fights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gap-rM4CbLc Here are five reasons why the UFC's newest WMMA signee has a chance at defeating champion Ronda Rousey.
