Could fans see Rowdy or the Notorious in a WWE ring soon?

In a new interview with the LAD Bible, Triple H has addressed the question of Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor appearing in WWE. Head on, we might add.

Rousey, of course, has a history with the promotion, having appeared alongside The Rock in a confrontation with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 31. That appearance turned out to be the most talked about WrestleMania moment in years.

McGregor, meanwhile, has yet to have any formal link with WWE, but has engaged in a number of spats with their stars on Twitter.

So what's the likelihood of either turning up in the WWE ring some day? Not as bad as you might think.

In regards to Rousey, it certainly feels the more certain of the two prospects, per Triple H:

Obviously there's questions of Ronda and what she's going to do next. I think that's likely at some point in time, she's a huge fan of what we do and loves it. As a next step in her career, from an entertainment standpoint, I think it makes sense and I think it's something she'd love to do.

The Executive VP went a little more in depth on the McGregor question, admitting that they had talked, albeit briefly. "I think Conor has a mutual respect, I have a mutual respect for him. We've chatted briefly, we'll see where it goes."

He would go on to elaborate, adding that McGregor knew exactly what to say to get the Internet talking, and that;

He has the world in his hand right now, he has a lot of opportunities... I do know that he's a business man, I do know that he's a very smart business man. He's open to opportunities of business, I know we're open to opportunities of business, I hate to say it again, but never say never in the WWE...

If it's the right business opportunity for him, and the right business opportunity for us, we would both be open to having conversations and see what can happen down the line. In some ways, he is custom made for what we do, the whole thing. If that's something that he wants to do, we'd be happy to talk.

However, Triple H was quick to point out that he believes McGregor's number one focus is competing in the UFC.

Currently, the UFC lightweight champion (who was unceremoniously stripped of his featherweight title just over a month ago) is taking some time off while awaiting the birth of his first child.

Rousey, meanwhile, was last seen suffering her second straight defeat in a failed comeback attempt at UFC 207 in December. She has stated that she's taking some time to reflect, but recently quoted J.K. Rowling in saying "and so rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life."
