UFC 245 Predictions

5. Petr Yan Vs. Urijah Faber

Despite seemingly retiring from the sport back in 2016, former WEC bantamweight champion and MMA fan favourite, Urijah Faber, looked like he hadn't missed a step when he returned to the Octagon, battering Ricky Simon and finishing him with strikes in less than a minute.

While that win might've reignited Faber's competitive fire, he's in for a hell of a challenge in his next fight against the extremely impressive Petr Yan. The 26-year old Russian has looked absolutely sensational since joining the UFC, beating the likes of Douglas Silva de Andrade, John Dodson and Jimmie Rivera decisively in his last three fights.

He has a dangerous combination of all the skills required to be a successful MMA fighter, having the ability to mix in his striking and grappling seamlessly, transitioning to each area in different and effective ways.

While Faber is a veteran and took out a talented up-and-comer in Simon, Yan is a completely different kettle of fish. He's already in the mix for a title shot and has the potential to be a champion in the future. While It might not end via finish, you should expect another dominant and impressive performance from the Russian.

Petr Yan via unanimous decision.
