Few wrestlers are having a stronger year than Neville. ‘The King Of The Cruiserweights’ has been a revelation since turning heel, with his new persona proving to be the making of him on the main roster. It has unlocked vaults of charisma that seemed non-existent before, but after fending off the likes of Austin Aries, Jack Gallagher, and TJP as champion, the Geordie is running out of potential challengers.

Enter Akira Tozawa.

The popular Japanese scrapper might be a little pre-occupied with Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews at the moment, but he has plenty of momentum after winning his feud with Brian Kendrick. He’s one of only a handful of babyfaces capable of drawing a reaction from the tepid 205 Live crowd, and as such, it makes sense to throw him against the all-conquering champion.

Tozawa and Neville know each other extremely well from their Dragon Gate days, and have competed against one another dozens of times in the past. Their chemistry should be excellent, and if each man performs to the best of his ability, we could be looking at the kind of bout that breathes new life into a struggling brand, elevating both performers’ profiles in the process.
