Tributes and words have flooded in from the likes of Jim Ross, Mick Foley, and even Stephanie McMahon lamenting the passing of Joanie 'Chyna' Laurer on 20 April 2016. Laurer had her fair share of ups and downs during the past 15 years, but she is fondly remembered as one of the most revolutionary female athletes in wrestling history.

Her life may have taken questionable turns since leaving the then-WWF in 2001, but it's her in-ring career which provides focus here. As Chyna, Laurer had a lot of fantastic moments to look back on after she stepped away from the ring.

Title wins, crossover success in mainstream media, and consistently breaking down barriers for females in the industry were all notable accomplishments during her career.

Who could ever forget her involvement in some of the biggest matches of the 'Attitude Era', or the fact she seemed at one point destined for a crack at the WWF Heavyweight Title? Chyna is remembered for a number of reasons, but let's look at some of the most positive...

10. Her Memorable Debut

During the early years of his character, Triple H - then known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley - had a number of characters by his side. Most notably, Sable acted as a one-off valet, before aligning herself with Marc Mero. Curtis Hughes was also cast as Hunter's butler.

None of those characters had the impact Chyna did. Fittingly, her debut came as quite the shock to onlookers at In Your House 13: Final Four.

Triple H had just lost to a young Rocky Maivia, thanks largely to the presence of Goldust and Marlena around ringside. Irate, Hunter called for his golden foe to enter the ring. Standing on the ring apron, Goldust then looked round in horror to see Marlena being choked from behind by a musclebound woman, who was subsequently hauled away by security. That female was later revealed to be Chyna.

It was quite the first appearance; Chyna looked like no other woman who had ever graced the World Wrestling Federation.
