10 Best TNA Matches Of All Time

TNA has more misses than hits, but these matches ruled!

It's only fair that, having covered the very worst matches in TNA's history a few days ago, this article details the lighter side of that particular coin. Despite being home to many of the worst examples of car-crash wrestling, the Tennessee-based promotion can also boast employing some of the best wrestlers of the 21st century during its 12 year history. A collection of the best matches put on by stars such as AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Kurt Angle rank up there with the best both the WWE and independent scene has to offer. Some matches on this list are renowned for their spectacularly slick in-ring action, a style which is probably thought of when one is asked to imagine TNA at its very best. Others are the hard-hitting culmination of a bloody feud, featuring excellent storytelling and drawing upon the emotions of the crowd. Various bouts combine both these elements to varying degrees, resulting in matches which are both breathtaking as a form of entertainment and pure wrestling. Although taken from all areas of TNA's relatively short history, the vast majority of these matches took place between 2005 and 2008, something of a sweet spot in the company's existence. Free from the financial limitations of their weekly Pay Per View days, but yet to be burdened by the introduction of Hogan, Bischoff, et al., it's no coincidence that this era produced a lot of fantastic clashes for TNA. Had the company been able to maintain this level of quality going forwards, they might well have continued to glow in stature and eventually blossom into a genuine rival to the WWE. Of course, with over a decade of history to look back over, condensing a list of such matches to just ten is no mean feat. Leave any overlooked favourites of yours in the comments section below.
