10 Best Ways Wrestlers Said Goodbye

"Bad times don't last, but bad guys do."

Ric Flair Retirement
WWE

Ric Flair really meant it at the time when he told fans on the 31 March 2008 Raw that he would "never, ever wrestle in this ring again". It was plain to see by Flair's emotion and the specific nature of his words that he believed that to be true. Those words would come back to bite him once he worked matches for TNA and elsewhere.

That doesn't change the magnitude of the speech or what had happened just 24 hours before at WrestleMania XXIV. Ric, like so many others before and after him, was given ample opportunity by WWE to say goodbye to his loyal fans. Even if it didn't last outside of the company, Flair was right on one thing: He never did work a match for WWE again.

As fans, we should be thankful that he was handed the chance to say farewell. The same goes for so many other favourites, some of whom walked away on their own terms and some who were forced from the ring due to injury.

Saying goodbye is hard to do, but it's always touching...
