10 Best WWE Extreme Rules Matches Ever

It's only existed six years but it has quickly become one of WWE's biggest PPVs.

Extreme Rules is WWE's next pay-per-view pit stop on April 26th, following an epic WrestleMania at the start of the month. Typically, the event deals with the fallout from the biggest show of the year. Long-standing rivalries are built up to usually be blown off in the most hardcore of circumstances, in the process putting a definitive end to the chapters written before moving on to feuds anew. That's not always the case of course - but the United States Championship match between John Cena and Rusev will in all likelihood fall into that pigeon-hole for 2015. Seth Rollins defends his newly-won WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the man who beat him at WrestleMania; Randy Orton, while a host of other matches are set to be announced in the lead up. Usually, this is a time where just about anything goes, given this is one of WWE's biggest 'gimmick' special events. Denominations of the Extreme Rules concept are often stipulated on each match, and you'll only have to look back at the six previous editions of this show to see that. The event has thrown up some classics since 2009, with the odd huge Superstar comeback in there to boot. Take a look back on ten of the best matches in Extreme Rules history.
