They only spent about five minutes in the ring together, but Brock Lesnar's feud with Goldberg really has to go down as one of the great feuds of 2017.

It had pretty much everything, from a great comeback story - a WCW legend getting back in the ring at the age of 50, after more than a decade out, is pretty special, however brief his matches - to genuinely shocking moments. Seriously, who could have predicted the Beast Incarnate would get humiliated by his opponent for a second time at the Rumble?

Then there was the climax. There has simply never been a better sub-five-minute match in the history of WWE, and perhaps not in professional wrestling period. It was a pulsating, logic-defying car crash of the kind it's very rare to see at the top of the WrestleMania card.

The feud actually succeeded in making excitable children out of even the most jaded wrestling fans. For a brief time, we didn't care about the fact that two veteran heavyweights were monopolising the main event to the exclusion of young technicians.

We were just desperate to see them lock horns and right the wrongs of their WrestleMania XX dud - which they did with aplomb.
