10 Best WWE Last Man Standing Matches

A Last Man Standing Match is one of the most physical kinds of matches that can take place at a WWE event. It can only end when a wrestler is unable to answer a ten count after being downed. There are no pinfalls, submissions, countouts or disqualifications. Weapons are allowed and wrestlers able to brawl all over the arena. The only way to avoid losing is to get up before the count of ten. It's something that the wrestling business borrowed from boxing because the ten count finish is something that they've done in boxing and everybody is aware of it. It's a match type that some fans might find boring because it's the same thing all the time with one guy getting knocked down for a count of eight or nine before dramatically getting back up. It's essentially the same thing as somebody hitting a regular move, going for a pin and the opponent getting up at two. It's just building the drama. There will be a Last Man Standing match at Payback on June 1st as John Cena battles Bray Wyatt one more time. Cena's been a part of several LMS matches over the years while Wyatt hasn't had any of them on the big stage in WWE. It's not something the announcers have mentioned yet because they like to paint the idea of Cena as an underdog even though he clearly is the favorite. It's a stipulation that works because it involves somebody getting beat up to the point that they can't fight anymore. As you'll see as we talk about some of the best LMS matches, sometimes both guys were unable to get up. Here's a look at the ten best Last Man Standing matches in WWE history.
