10 Best WWE Last Man Standing Matches

10. The Rock Vs. Mankind - St. Valentine's Day Massacre 1999

It was the first Last Man Standing Match that took place on a WWE PPV. They tried other versions of the match over the years, but this was the first one where the rules were set in place so that the winner was determined only after keeping the opponent down for a count of ten. It was a very entertaining brawl that wasn't as violent as their Royal Rumble 1999 match, but they did use a lot of weapons. It was during that period of time where Rock wrestled in a t-shirt due to some kind of surgery he had on his chest. This match also had the extra addition of The Rock providing commentary for much of it. He even sang the Smackdown Hotel song! It didn't detract from the match. It made it more memorable. One spot that bothered me was they had a ref bump with Earl Hebner getting knocked to the floor and he couldn't count when Rock was down after the Mandible Claw, but that just added to the drama of it too. The draw that they did for the finish after chair shots was an interesting finish. It actually upset a lot of people at the time because they really stressed that there would be a winner when it was over. In the end, they just used it as a way to build to another match at Raw the next night, which The Rock won in a ladder match.
