WWE have presented six different pay-per-views in 2016 thus far. The Roadblock special on the WWE Network doesn't necessarily count, because it wasn't offered via traditional methods, exclusively airing on the promotion's subscription service. Royal Rumble, Fastlane, WrestleMania, Payback, Extreme Rules and Money In The Bank are the ones going under the microscope here.

This year has witnessed something of a sea change in WWE's mentality. More than ever before, new talent have been getting a look in, leading to a fresh feel on the main roster. That's been aided by those promoted from NXT, an influx that has undoubtedly reinvigorated things on Raw and SmackDown, which are due to become separate rosters in the coming weeks.

More is to come across events like SummerSlam, Hell In A Cell and Survivor Series, but what about the best WWE have presented so far in 2016? Each pay-per-view thus far this year has featured at least one stellar moment, and they haven't always been what people expected.

Let's analyse the first six pay-per-views of the year, looking at the absolute best supershow moments from WWE up till now...

10. Zack Ryder Becomes WWE Intercontinental Champion (WrestleMania)

The case of Zack Ryder is a curious one indeed. At one point between 2011-2012, Ryder was one of the most over faces on the WWE roster, using social media to build an audience that he hoped would translate into a televised push. That almost happened, but WWE never really seemed to get behind Ryder.

Of all the men involved in the Ladder Match at WrestleMania 32, Zack seemed like the least likely to leave as WWE Intercontinental Champion. Bizarrely, Ryder wasn't even supposed to be in the match to begin with, he was a last-minute replacement for the injured Neville.

That Englishman's loss was Ryder's gain, he snatched the title on wrestling's grandest stage to become the new titleholder. His reign would only last around 24 hours before being cut short by The Miz, once again showing WWE's reservations over Zack Ryder as a champion.

Ignoring what was to come, the 'Mania moment was a magical one for Zack. After years of toil and struggle to gain any house room on Raw or SmackDown, he had captured an infamous belt on the biggest show of the year.
