There's nothing better than when a WWE superstar returns to the ring. Whether they've been out of action due to an injury, or have taken some time off for other reasons, it's always awe-inspiring to see these competitors come back, and set out on another chapter of their career. We've been treated to many unforgettable returns over the years, and each time superstars like Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker and Kane set foot back in the ring, they're greeted by a rapturous applause.

2018 hasn't been one of WWE's finest, that's for sure. Lazy storytelling and infuriating pushes were rife, and this didn't give us much to celebrate. However, there have been plenty of WWE superstars who returned to in-ring action this year, which made things more interesting. Whether it be a surprise entry in the Royal Rumble, a Wrestlemania comeback or a backstage appearance during an episode of Monday Night Raw, these WWE competitors really know how to keep viewers in suspense.

Without further ado, let's take a look at the best WWE returns 2018 has given us thus far.

10. Chris Jericho – Raw (22 January 2018)

It had been a while since we'd seen Chris Jericho at a WWE event, but Y2J surprised us all when he made an impromptu appearance during Raw's 25th anniversary earlier this year. As Elias wandered through the arena - guitar in hand - he bumped into Jericho, whose on-screen appearance received a pretty big pop from the audience.

During the humorous segment, Jericho criticised the scarves Elias had around his neck, and proceeded to tell the musician that he'd written him a song. When Elias refused to let him borrow his guitar, Y2J revealed he'd brought his own - much to the joy of the crowd. His song wasn't a lyrical masterpiece by any means, but it had everyone in stitches, and Jericho ended the melody by telling Elias that he'd just made the list - and so had his scarves.

It was a nice surprise to see Jericho show up unannounced, and the return of his infamous list was always going to go down well with the WWE Universe.
