10 Best WWE Smackdown Episodes Of All Time

Depressingly the most recent episode on this list was 7 YEARS AGO!

WWE.comWWE.comThere was a time in World Wrestling Entertainment when SmackDown was vastly superior to Monday Night Raw. The wrestling was oftentimes better, the storylines more intriguing and the motives of each character more defined. Each week presented a pay-per-view quality bout featuring the best wrestlers in the world while Raw was busy featuring the latest chapter in the Katie Vick saga or yet another in an endless line of boring 20-minute Triple H promos. Yes, SmackDown was everything that Raw was not, thanks in large part to a concentrated effort from its Superstars and creative team to prove it was every bit the brand that the Monday night flagship show was. Over the course of its 15 years, SmackDown has brought fans some tremendous episodes. It was the birthplace of the Cenation, the setting of the No Disqualification war between Edge and Eddie Guerrero and featured the reign of "the Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar. Torrie Wilson thrilled audiences with her unrivaled beauty, The Undertaker captivated fans with his awe-inspiring presence and Batista carried the brand as its champion. And, while it was also the home of Heidenreich, Mordecai, Chavo Classic and World Heavyweight champion The Great Khali, it was responsible for more good than bad. Unfortunately, the reintegration of the roster has led to SmackDown becoming the lesser of the two shows. Still a show in which great wrestling occurs, its importance has diminished tenfold since its glory days over a decade ago. Matches happen, the occasional major angle occurs but for the most part, fans are not at a disadvantage in terms of storyline progression if they miss the Friday night broadcast. For those who once considered the show their favorite in wrestling, even labeling it as destination programming for a short period, its current state has to be disappointing. In celebration of a time in which SmackDown was must-see television, here is a look back at the 10 greatest episodes in the history of the blue brand.
