10 Big Predictions For John Cena's WWE Future

What now for the injured franchise?

John Cena's WWE future has been plunged into doubt, with news that he's facing up to nine months on the shelf with a shoulder injury. By the time he returns around September, he'll be 39 years old. What's interesting is that (in the past) Cena talked about wanting to be retired before he became too old. He'll turn 40 years old in the weeks after WrestleMania 33, which is now set to be his next 'Mania date. It suddenly feels like what should have been his last great full-time year has been taken from him. Indeed, there were many big plans for Cena in 2016, starting with a match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. Those plans are now in the trash can, and WWE are reportedly redoing the whole show with Cena now ruled out. There's also a very good chance that he would have won his sixteenth World Title this year, but it is now doubtful if he'll ever get that opportunity. The company had wanted him to at least equal Ric Flair's championship record, but such a long layoff and the progression of younger stars (Reigns, Rollins etc) is making that feat seem less probable. There's a lot Cena won't be able to do now, but what will John Cena's future have in store? Here's ten big predictions.
