Like Bobby Lashley, Ethan Carter III's Impact contract is reportedly set to expire during the early part of 2018, potentially clearing the way for a return to the company he left nearly five years ago.

In terms of marketing potential, this is probably among the smaller of the possible 2018 returns. Despite being a multi-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, EC3 doesn't have a huge profile in WWE, the highlight of his first run being a spell on NXT season three.

As such, you'd expect him to be assigned to the developmental ranks in Orlando, tasked with working his way up the ladder in the same way that fellow Impact recruits Bobby Roode and Drew McIntyre have over the last couple of years.

And, honestly, this would probably suit him just fine. Carter is still very young in wrestling terms and won't be burdened with the sort of expectation that many others on this list may encounter. All that means he has plenty of time to grow into his new (or rather, old) surroundings.
