10 Biggest Overachievers In Wrestling

These guys were never destined for greatness, but they did it anyway.

What would wrestling be without its overachievers? While some are clearly destined for greatness and are hand-picked for storyline success, others have to battle against the odds to get noticed and make an impact in the world of pro-wrestling. These are guys that accomplished way more than most people ever thought they would. There can be a lot of things standing in the way of a wrestling making it to the top. If WWE had ten John Cena's, muscled company men who are dedicated to the cause and shift merchandise, it would be ecstatic. Unfortunately for them, that clearly isn't the case, and stars are found in places (and people) they would never think to look. WWE talent are pre-judged based on a number of things. Where did they come from? Is their 'look' any good? Did they shake that veteran's hand? How tall are they? And so on and so forth. For wrestlers with an unconventional look, different-from-normal ring style or a poor gimmick, it's hard to get past the pre-judging stage. Some wrestlers battle with perceptions for years, hoping to make it to the top. Others accept that they're never going to get there, no matter how hard they try. A lucky few manage to fly in the face of convention and overachieve. There have been countless World Champions over the years who some thought would never, ever get there.
