10. Daniel Bryan's Big Announcement

What Was Promised: After losing the SmackDown Tag-Team Titles with Erick Rowan at Extreme Rules, a disturbed-looking Daniel Bryan promised WWE.com he'd be making a "career altering announcement" very soon. What would it be? A second retirement? His plans to become a singles star again? A babyface turn? A jump to NXT?

How They Broke It: It was none of those things.

WWE teased Bryan's announcement for days and hyped up the importance of his big reveal on the next episode of SmackDown. Then, Daniel came out, said nothing and left. That was literally it, and the company didn't follow up on whatever plans they did have (if any) afterwards.

Bryan's announcement was that he didn't have an announcement. It was a hollow, cruel tease, and another example of senseless pretence from the writers that they had big things in mind.
