10 Biggest Winners From CM Punk Leaving WWE

Two years later, who's on top?

On January 27, 2014 - the night after the Royal Rumble - CM Punk walked away from his WWE contract following a meeting with Vince McMahon and Triple H. Punk had been unhappy with his position in the company for some time, and the Royal Rumble - where Punk wrestled for 40 minutes despite allegedly suffering a concussion - was the final straw. Many expected the longest-reigning WWE Champion of the modern era to return to the company in the weeks that followed, but WrestleMania came and went and he was nowhere to be seen. In June of 2014 - on the same day he was married - Punk received his letter of termination from the company. Nearly two years have passed since CM Punk last competed in a wrestling ring, and both the course of WWE and Punk's own life have changed greatly. The questions remain, though - who's really better off now than they were in January of 2014? The situation's losers are easy to pinpoint - Triple H, whom Punk painted as a vindictive boss interested in eliminating coworkers who didn't mesh with him; Vince McMahon, whose anemic attempts at making good with Punk made him look like an old man no longer fit to be at the helm of his company; WWE doctor Chris Amann, whom Punk accused of misdiagnosing a MRSA infection that nearly led to his death; and of course, the WWE Universe, who have suffered the absence of one of the most talented superstars of all time. But as of today, who are the situation's winners?
