10 Biggest WWE Missed Opportunities In SummerSlam History

Some of them helped with the benefit of hindsight... some of them should have been obvious at the time!

SummerSlam is coming up on Sunday, August 17. WWE's summer classic is one of the biggest events of the year for the company and one that fans are highly anticipating. The reason for that is due to the main event that has been booked for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. John Cena will be defending the title against The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar in the long awaited return match from 2012. As fans know, Cena won that showdown and now many believe it's Brock's turn to go over. If Lesnar does indeed win the championship, it would likely mean the first step on the road for Roman Reigns to becoming WWE's new top guy. However if Cena wins, then it's back to business as usual for the company. Either result raises the very interesting point of "what it?" It's a question that fans have asked many times in the past concerning WWE's pay-per-views and SummerSlam is no different. The company is fallible and many times directions are taken that leave fans scratching their heads and wondering just exactly why certain moves are made and what it all means. It all comes down to missed opportunities. SummerSlam has seen its fair share and August 17 may actually bring more of the same. But thus far there are 10 that really stand out from the rest.
