10 Biggest WWE WrestleMania 34 Missed Opportunities

9. Heart & Soul

205 Live has been fantastic since Triple H took the reigns in January, and has now become WWE's most reliable weekly source of great in-ring action.

It's a talented group, but Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali have been positioned as clear cut stars, and looked set to wrestle an awesome WrestleMania clash after making the finals of Drake Maverick's Cruiserweight Title tournament. Succeeding in doing so was vital. 205 has improved, but remains WWE's least popular brand. A blow-away PPV match should've built hype, drawn new eyes to the product, and made it more relevant than ever, but alas, Ali vs. Alexander failed.

It was a good match, but not what it needed to be. Sadly, the duo's workrate was totally undermined by over the top "heart vs. soul" bulls***, with both frequently pausing the action to blurt their side out. Distractingly on the nose, it took away from what should've been a coming out party for both wrestlers, showcasing exactly what happens when a niche in-ring product returns to the trite sports entertainment trappings that sunk it in the first place.
