10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (Jan 23)

Goldberg must head into the Royal Rumble looking like the man...

WWE are arguing that the most star-studded Rumble match in history will take place on 30 January. It's not a bad claim, as the likes of Brock Lesnar, Bill Goldberg, The Undertaker, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins will all enter.

For Goldberg, Lesnar is still the main target, and it looks like issues between both men will continue on into WrestleMania 33. Considering Brock appeared last week, It doesn't look like WWE will have both men in the same building on this coming week's Raw. Laying waste to everyone in his path, Lesnar also made Braun Strowman back away.

It makes sense to imagine the writers have something similar in mind for Goldberg this coming Monday.

Other feuds, such as Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks vs. Nia Jax, and issues over the Raw tag-team titles, require some attention too. Further, Neville's newfound success as a heel deserves more spotlight, as does the recent return of Sami Zayn.

Let's look at what WWE could logically have in store come Raw, moving things nicely into the Royal Rumble six days later...

10. Stephanie McMahon Makes Huge Main Event

Normally, Mick Foley (as Raw's General Manager) would be the figure to announce this kind of match. Conspicuous by their absence on last week's show, neither Mick nor Stephanie McMahon appeared in any segments. Therefore, opening the show with Steph would get a nice heel reaction.

Talking up the Royal Rumble in her usual patronising fashion, McMahon would then reveal a massive main event for Raw. Given the ongoing issues between Seth Rollins and Triple H, Stephanie could even state that Rollins needs to take his mind off her husband and focus on the 30-man match on Sunday.

Sticking the knife into Seth and simultaneously acting callous towards Roman Reigns, McMahon says that both former Shield members will face one another. Should Seth win, his prize is avoiding what would befall him if he doesn't. Namely, he will be forced to enter the Rumble as #1.

This kind of promo suits Stephanie's character; she would be vindictive just for the sake of it and try to cover that evil by pointing to Rollins vs. Reigns as a marquee match.
