10 Brutal Realisations About WWE Network's Holy Foley!

Holy Crap!

The WWE Network will go down as one of Vince McMahon's greatest ideas. Ahead of the curve, Vince chose to forego pay-per-view buys and DVD/Blu-Ray sales when he decided to invest in a Video On Demand (VOD) and streaming service that would feature a live, 24-hour-a-day stream, plus thousands of hours from the WWE catalog.

While other industries are still clinging to cable and traditional television as their main source of revenue, McMahon took a huge risk (not his first, by the way) by offering up the WWE Network for 9.99 per month.

While the Network, as well as the WWE business model, has undergone several changes since the service was finally released in 2014, the changes have only helped to improve the product. The WWE Network has provided endless hours of both archived footage and old WWF and WWE programming as well as some incredible, fantastic original content.

As good as some of WWE's original programming has been (see: WWE 24, Rivalries, Stone Cold Podcast etc), the company hasn't always batted a thousand. Their latest show, Holey Foley, is a prime example of that. From desperate attempts at seeking fame to many cringe-worthy acting performances, Holey Foley is a brutal WWE reality show that does not do the WWE Network any favours.

The fact that this show is as bad as it is actually highlights how great some of the other exclusive WWE Network shows have been, but to find out what makes Holey Foley such a chore to watch, continue reading...

10. Noelle Foley's Baby Talk

For anyone that isn't familiar, Noelle Foley is Mick Foley's only daughter and over the past several years has been an increasing presence on the professional wrestling scene.

Noelle's first exposure to wrestling fans came in the controversial 1999 film Beyond The Mat as a little girl who was a superfan of her father. As an adult, she's become a WWE superfan with a strong social media presence that now has a WWE Network exclusive crafted primarily around her. In several ways, Noelle Foley has grown up in front of the sports-entertainment world.

While Noelle has had various other gigs outside of the WWE-produced Holey Foley!, the one characteristic that she's always displayed is her proclivity for baby talk.

You know what baby talk is - that annoying, talk-like-a-toddler-voice that many girls think is cute but beyond the age of 3 or 4 becomes increasingly grating. And at nearly 23 years-old, Noelle still hasn't dropped the habit and it makes for a Dean Douglas-like, nails-on-the-chalkboard sound whenever it's caught on Holey Foley! cameras.

Notwithstanding her role in Beyond The Mat, where she was, in fact, a baby, Noelle's habit of speaking like she's still learning how to just screams "immature" and is not something that is easily digested.

While Holey Foley! has a number of cringeworthy moments, the perpetual baby talk displayed by Noelle Foley has to be near the top of the list.
