10 Crazy WWE Stunts (And How They Did Them)

9. Kane's Fireball

WWE is one of several promotions to have used the fireball spot over the years, perhaps the most famous example of which being that time Hulk Hogan managed to burn his eyebrows off in a car crash encounter with The Ultimate Warrior.

Kane got in in on the act in 1998, inadvertently firing one into the eyes of Chyna after Triple H ducked out the way (like a brave hero would).

And while nobody has let the cat out the bag on that particular spot, industry insiders tell us that this effect is generally accomplished through the use of flash paper, sheets of nitrocellulose often used by stage magicians.

According to Online World Wrestling, The Sheik - arguably wrestling's most famous fireball practitioner - would sometimes rub his fingers in phosphoric acid before handling them, or else use some sort of object to ignite and give forward momentum to the flame.

Either way, it sounds relatively easy - both to pull off and to get spectacularly, horribly wrong. That's probably why we rarely see it in today's business outside of wrestling shows hosted in grandma's backyard.
