10 Cringe-Worthy Interviews With The Undertaker

9. Pillow Fighting On Jimmy Kimmel – 2003

In 2001, WWE pitted Booker T vs. The Rock, while still trying to be as diligent as possible with the limited WCW roster...

...DDP excepted.

In 2002, the cross-branded fanfare was gone, but some terrific matches more than compensated: Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio, Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H, The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar. By 2003, the WCW vs. WWE luster was gone, but then Goldberg finally signed with WWE.

Yet even with Goldberg in an Elimination Chamber match, SummerSlam still needed as much help as possible, with such duds as Eric Bischoff vs. Shane McMahon and The Undertaker vs. A-Train padding out the card. To help promote the PPV, WWE sent Big Evil to Jimmy Kimmel. There were plenty of ways WWE could have pushed the PPV during the interview, but apparently, those ideas were shelved for a pillow fight.

Whether a mortician or biker, WWE spent decades creating a humourless character who placed fear in the hearts of superstars and fans alike. If there was any way to extinguish the tenor of The Undertaker and kill any hope for SummerSlam 2003, it was by having the Dead Man take the first full swing in a pillow fight that lasted far too long.

Also, what did it say for A-Train when his upcoming opponent was pillow fighting a man half of his size in preparation for their PPV match?
