10 Desperate Moves WWE Made In A Panic Over Low Ratings

Panic will make Vince McMahon do strange things.

No one panics the way Vince McMahon does when television ratings dip. History tells us that the egocentric owner of World Wrestling Entertainment dips into his bag of tricks whenever the numbers trend downward. Sometimes, that results in an increase in the quality of the shows, dynamic and exciting angles and more attention paid to the biggest stars in the business. Other times, McMahon's desperation led to the most ludicrous and, at times, offensive angles any fan has ever been exposed to. We're talking necrophilia, lesbians for lesbians' sake, and exploitation of a very real war. THAT bad. In 2015, amid sinking ratings and a waning interest in the product, the decision was made to dig the Undertaker out of mothballs and bring him back to television to reignite a feud with Brock Lesnar that has been dead, for all intents and purposes, for over a year. And if that is not enough, reports suggest that the company will also dust off Sting for some sort of match with Bray Wyatt at the same SummerSlam event that the Deadman battles the Beast. Now, as the company again pulls out all stops to reverse a ratings free fall, take a look back at these 10 completely desperate moves made by WWE in a panic over declining viewership.
