10 Dream Wrestling Matches That Didn't Deliver

9. Hulk Hogan Vs. Kevin Nash (Nitro - 1999)

Admittedly Hulk Hogan versus Kevin Nash was never one that was going to get the purists' pulses racing. Even in their pomp, neither man could be accused of being a great technician in the ring, and by 1999 they were both growing a little long in the tooth.

Still, this had credentials as a dream match insofar as it was the first real meeting between the nWo leader and one of his two cronies, namely the one who had ended Goldberg's undefeated streak a couple of weeks earlier to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

But, in the end, it was rubbish (and not just because the Nitro crowd showered them in discarded soda cups after the final bell). Instead of mounting any serious offence, Hogan simply poked Nash in the chest, causing him to sarcastically fall to the ground for an easy pin. It was all a ruse, folks.

Whether this led directly to the death of WCW or not is a matter we can debate, but the facts are the facts: thousands of fence-sitting viewers switched over to see Mankind win the WWF Title on Raw, and got to watch a far better main event match.
