Even as McMahon strong-armed his way onto the Thanksgiving schedule, all was not lost for the Crockett contingent. Survivor Series was scheduled for the evening hours, while America enjoyed its shared turkey coma, leaving the earlier part of the day open for another pay-per-view.

Starrcade moved their show to earlier on Thanksgiving Day in order to accommodate the shoehorning of Survivor Series into the schedule. As such, satellite providers only allowed them a two-hour and thirty-minute window for which to run their show, as they needed to be off the air with time to spare for Survivor Series.

Seems like a must-win for everybody involved. That is until McMahon, who had no interest in Starrcade being a boon for Crockett, stepped in and made yet another bellicose chess move.
